5 FAILPROOF RESOURCES FOR IGNITING YOUR VERTICAL JUMP

Aug 30
2 min read

I can't believe it, but about 16 years ago I could jump with the best of them for my size (5'11"). I trained relentlessly for 5 years trying to see just how well I could improve my collective athletic skill set using an all-natural approach. In terms of jumping improvements, I increased my Standing Broad Jump by 8 inches (9'7" to 10'3"), Standing Vertical Jump by 7 inches (30" to 37"), and Vertical Jump with an approach by 7 inches (39" to 46"). Check it out....

I'm 5'11" and the guy standing next to me was the gym owner, who stood at 5'10"

Sorry the photo is a little blurry, but I used to be inches away from hitting my head on the rim after training my ass off the "right" way for years and years.

Here's another throwback from former NFL Safety Josh Barrett! I had the privilege to work with him throughout his NFL career. He is shown here effectively demonstrating a Bilateral Lateral Box Jump. Very underrated and helps benefit unique lower body/]core anatomy, builds coordination, influences linear athletic ability, multi-directional landing skill and control, and much more.

On a final note, rather than just re-purpose what I've already created like most coaches tend to do, I figured I would just share the pre-existing vertical jump content I've already had published. The industry is so dead set on establishing new information and trends, but that never means that it is in any way, shape, or form better than past credible information.

With that being said, here is a complete series of articles on how to develop you or your athlete's vertical jump as quickly as possible. This information will never change and always serve its purpose. Please stay tuned because I'll be continually writing and sharing research on up-to-date studies, jump techniques, and supportive programming and training methods in the future.
